April 1st marks one year since starting up my Etsy account!
I'm so glad one of my high school friends told me about it and encouraged me to sell things through this website. In the last year, I've made $1,709 on things I've sewn and sold, and $1,227 of it came from sells on Etsy (subtract some of this for shipping costs and minimal etsy charges). I've sold to Colorado, Michigan, Washington, Idaho, Georgia, California, Maryland, Ohio, and Virginia.
It has really been a fun low-effort hobby! I've still been trying to figure out over the last year if I want to specialize in something. This year has been all about getting rid of clothes I made in high school and I don't wear anymore, clothes I've made recently and didn't want to wear more than once, or making random orders that others have requested--pirate coats, pioneer dresses, prom dresses. I think I could do a lot better if I specialized into a few things generic and non-measurement specific. Of course, Jason, being the businessman, tells me everyday how I could sell more and make more money :) We'll see, I may find myself with loooots of time on my hands this summer. Give me any suggestions you've got!

Not that I am holding my breath, but I would love it if we all lived close-by some time in the future and you could teach Adie (or any future daughters) to sew. My sewing skills are rudimentary at best. It's such an amazing talent / skill you have and so cool you can create all of that. That's some serious money you've made on a part-time hobby. I am sure your children will also be so well-dressed.

Aprons, cards (greeting cards/thank-you cards since yours were always cute), bags, you could come up with a cute wrap skirt that could fit more than one size. . .otherwise any dress or skirt (especially like the one pictured) or outfit you make will surely sell, but that doesn't fit your non-size-specific constraints.
I think the wrap skirt is a great idea along with the cards! what i was really thinking and someone said it already but aprons...my sister made me one and sent it to me and all my friends are always talking about how they want a cute apron for cooking and that places just dont sell really cute aprons! but i think that would be a lot of fun to do! the other thing i was thinking...maybe doing blankets! just an idea! if i think of anything else i will let you know.
I was just thinking that you could do dress-up clothes for little kids, like capes, hats, dresses, etc.
