Knock, Knock

The doornob broke off, and we were locked in, and everyone else locked out. And then the bell rang. It was hilarious. It took like 3 minutes and some desperate calls to the office before we even thought to use the side door that connects to Ms. Reid's room. That was yesterday first period. My door still hasn't been fixed, and there's a part they need to get that is taking a few days to come in. Awesome.

Canon EOS 450D

We got a new camera!! We used our tax return we will hopefully be getting this Spring! For anyone not in the Millar family, you probably didn't realize how they are really big camera people, so we had lots of experts to give us advice and help us through this overwhelming purchase! PS--Thank you Brett for your late night tutorials with Jason :) Now we fit in the family, right?
I'm ecstatic about picking up a new hobby! What better time than now?! For happiness, I believe, is in making plans, learning new things, reaching goals, and showing them off, yes? Please bear with us as our next thousand pictures are in trial-and-error phase.

Arrrrrgg

A stranger online ordered a Capt. Hook coat and vest from my Etsy website (http://www.dearmistergable.etsy.com/). He was way excited about it, and wanted to design some of the details. Here's what he emailed me: Here's what I bought:
And here's what I came up with:
Despite charging $320, I think the more I make this ensemble, the more I want to up the price. For some reason, everything that could go wrong in the construction did, and it became one of those 'are you kidding me' projects. I'm shipping it off to Georgia in the morning. Good riddance.

A letter from one of my students:

Mrs. Millar Thank you for not making class boring and weird. I liked it when we were cooking and we made breakfast burritos. They were pretty good. Even though someone in our group burned the bacon and added way to much salsa. I also liked sewing even though it isn't edible. Making the bags was really fun. I will use the bag until it breaks or something like that happens to it.

What a Guy

Jason single-handedly (or single arm-ly) reached $1000 by selling his plasma over the last few months. With it, he's payed for our desktop computer and bought a netbook. What a crazy kid!
